Future Home of the “Wells of Hope Healing Center”

The vision started over 10 years ago when Mike and Laurie Leiding along with their friend, partner in ministry and sister in Christ started sharing ideas with how they wanted to help women and children in 3rd world countries.

Our friend lives in the area of a 9.5 acre property that was purchased around 9 years ago. Nothing has happened on the property other than building a latrine and a shower building for a lady who was living in the above house.

The property is amazingly beautiful and lush with fruit trees, coffee trees, Eucalyptus trees and rich soil good for growing crops.

The vision for this property is to be a shelter and a safe place for women and children who have been rescued from the hands of human trafficking and sex exploitation. Trafficking for the purposes of labour and sex has been growing for years and is still on the rise.

An estimated 49.6 million people live in situations of "modern slavery" on any given day, including both forced labour and forced marriage. The International Labour Organization (ILO) estimates 27.6 million people are victims of human trafficking and generates an estimated $236 billion USD in illegal profits annually.

When people are rescued from these horrific places, they need a place to heal and rebuild their lives again. Wells of Hope Healing Center will be that place where the wounded will come and be healed, the abused and neglected will find love and acceptance and where broken hearts and minds will be restored.

This vision will be accomplished in a number of stages depending on funding. A fence needs to be built around the area that will have the buildings and a well needs to be drilled. There will be a number of homes built on the property where people will live.

A school will be built where the children will get an education and where the adults can learn a life skill or trade that will prepare them for living on their own so they can provide for their family eventually.

There is a plan for a clinic where the residents as well as the locals in the area can come and get basic medical attention. A multipurpose building that will be used as a church as well as other healing activities will eventually be built as well.
